Alright let's get down down to business! >8D and defeat the Huns. owo
Positive stuff- I'm really impressed with this. I have a thing or two about profiles; especially the forehead and the lips. You did a fantastic job with the profile. The forehead is well shaped and pronounced and the lips fit naturally; something I myself have trouble with.
The color and lighting is gorgeous; You can see the emphasis on the shadows and where some areas have darkened more to create an effective and rather dark piece. The white splatter serves to create a "rippling" effect as which dramatizes and emphasizes what is being focused- the feeling of shattering.
The concept itself is very well done though the originality in general isn't as strong. However, once getting onto the specifics, this is a piece that you can certainly say you yourself conjured.
The emotion and emptiness is what really strikes me. This isn't a cat you would want to hug and say, "oh you poor thing." It's striking; strong and empty. Bitter in fact if I say so myself.
Now onto what you can improve. It appears the cat doesn't have a fully developed head/neck. You don't know where the head ends and where the neck begins. It doesn't come as off "natural" as it could be.
The ears also have a problem as they don't curve properly. The front of the ear also curves outwards a bit, resembling a wee bit of a jackal. The cat on the other hand, is different as the ear flap tends to go inward in the center and then at the tip grow outward.
Other than that, I believe this is a wonderful piece of art. I'm not pretending to be an expert at drawing cats because I probably can't draw one myself. In summary, this is a very beautiful drawing in a rather dark and bitter sense though there's always room for improvement. C:
Sorry for the typos that I forgot to correct or did not see.
(Oh yeah and this is my first critique so go easy on me kay? xD I still have lots to learn.)
OMG. This is a beautiful piece. Well, it's not exactly beautiful. But it's epic and awesome and I totally love it. So, down to the critiquing.
This is beautiful. The almost identityless cat crying yet it looks so scared and sad. It looks almost as if the cat knows something is gonna happen yet knows that it can't do anything.
The eyes.... they are so empty. It shows just how much emotion is deep down inside. And the background. OMG THE BACKGROUND! It looks like you graffitied this on a bridge on the highway dude!
So all together, this is a beautiful piece. I am just... so stunned by this. Keep up the great work Rainy!!!!!!
Wow this is absolutely amazing! I agree with Skykitten123 about how it looks spraypainted onto a bridge or something. It's so simple but yet so complex. It tells a story within itself. Just amazing!
